The Role of Engineers in Species Protection

As we strive for ecological balance, I find it crucial that environmental engineers incorporate wildlife conservation into their projects. For instance, integrating corridors that allow animal movement can significantly reduce roadkill and promote biodiversity. What innovative strategies have you come across that effectively blend engineering with conservation efforts?

And , it really drives me nuts that we still see so much roadkill despite all the technology we have. In my last project, we used wildlife underpasses that not only improved animal movement but also reduced accidents. It’s a win-win, but they can be pricey depending on the area.
